These tough new times require psychological resilience as well as hope.

In this politically polarised world a lot of people find themselves feeling rejected and depressed after elections. How do we cope with defeat on the issues that mean so much to us? The therapist Dr Jay Watts discusses the collision of politics and a person’s psychological profile with Eric Kaufmann of Birkbeck College, who wrote, “To get to the nub of the Leave-Remain divide, we need to go even deeper, to the level of attitudes and personality.”
