Alex von Tunzelmann is a historian, author, screenwriter and researcher. She read history at University College, Oxford and has since written Indian Summer: The Secret History of the End of an Empire and Red Heat: Conspiracy, Murder and the Cold War in the Caribbean, and has also collaborated on various book projects with, among others, Jeremy Paxman. She has been an outspoken opponent of the government’s Brexit strategy and has taken to Twitter to float the idea that London could “become an independent city-state, or even join up with Scotland”. She has contributed to a variety of publications, including the New York Times, Daily Telegraph and the Washington Post.
